The Absecon Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse that can be found in all of New Jersey. It is located off of Pacific and Rhode Island Ave. and is just minutes away from the Showboat Casino.
This lighthouse is one of the oldest in the country. Climb the 228 steps to the top and you will be able to glimpse an amazing view of the Atlantic City skyline.
The lighthouse was built with the first and original Fresnel Lens - which was first lit in 1857 - which you can learn all about the in the exhibit that is held at the original Oil House. On the grounds around the lighthouse you can also visit the Lightkeeper's dwelling - a museum that takes you back in time to where and how the lighthouse first came about.
